Went here after my VA appointment since the Nashville VA just happens to be right around the corner:) Also, this is my wife's favorite spot in Nashville, so those two combined for a guaranteed visit. The ambiance there is one of our favorite aspects of the whole experience-low key lighting for each individual table makes for an "inclusive" experience despite being surrounded by other tables...it almost feels like y'all are the only 2people in the whole joint. Wait staff is very courteous and patient, doesn't "steer" you into buying certain items and works hard to strike the balance between giving your table enough attention that you're never lacking, but not too much attention to where you can't have a conversation without being interrupted. This will continue to be a mainstay for me and my wife going forward. Thanks Stoney River for an always outstanding experience!

I was able to come with family to Stoney River last week for a celebration. The restaurant was busy, but thankfully I had made a reservation and we were seated promptly! I was struck by the lighting of the restaurant, which was on the darker side. It certainly didn't bother us, but something to take into consideration. Our table, however, was quite large (circular table for 6) and it made it quite difficult to converse. To start, the friendly staff brought their house bread which was delicious. A sweeter bread that was a great way to start off the meal! We ordered two appetizers, the spinach artichoke dip and the steak rolls. The spinach artichoke dip was ok. I found the chips to be a little too salty. However, the steak rolls were amazing!! Makes my mouth water just thinking about them! For my entree, I was bold and ordered the coffee-cured filet mignon (medium rare). I also opted for fries with the steak. It was so unique, with a crispy outer layer. I was very impressed! The steak was cooked perfectly and it was clear that the cut of steak was high quality. Overall, solid restaurant with an interesting ambience. Food is on the pricier side without the more formal environment you might expect (which is not necessarily a bad thing!). It was the filet mignon (and the steak rolls) that helped push this from a 4/5 to a 5/5.

I dined at Stoney River on March 9, 2024 at 7:30 pm for my birthday. I had a good experience and it was a good choice to celebrate my birthday. The food was great, but the service was less attentive than expected. Probably because we were seated in the corner next to the bathrooms. But it wasn't too bad because it was a lot less noisy than the middle of the restaurant. For appetizer, I had the lobster bisque. The bisque was creamy and flavorful. I was satisfied that it had a decent amount of lobster pieces in there. For the entree, I got the coffee-cured filet mignon with a side of garlic mash potatoes. It was cooked to a perfect medium temperature and was one of the best tasting filets I had. It did come out missing the chimichuri sauce, but it was rectified after several minutes of waiting for the server to come back and check on us. The food came out in decent time, which was impressive given how busy they were. If the service was more attentive, it would be deserving of 5 stars. Overall, very excellent food, a bit pricey though. Average service, because it took a while. But your service could vary depending on the day, time, and server.

I had the pleasure of dining at Stoney River - Coolspring on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 7:00 pm. As a repeat customer, I have always had exceptional experiences at Stoney River in the past. On this particular evening, my family and I made reservations for 7:30 pm to celebrate a family member's birthday. Despite arriving early at 7:00 pm, the staff kindly accommodated us promptly and seated us without delay. Upon being greeted by our server, we placed our drink orders and soon after, our entrees. To kick off the meal, we were served a delightful basket of warm bread rolls accompanied by a side of butter. Each of us ordered an entree and an appetizer, both of which arrived promptly and were presented beautifully. For my appetizer, I savored the jumbo cocktail shrimp, served in a generous portion with plump, juicy shrimp resting on a bed of ice alongside a flavorful cocktail sauce infused with a tantalizing hint of horseradish. The shrimp's sweetness paired perfectly with the tangy sauce, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. Moving on to my main course, I indulged in the NOLA Grilled Shrimp served with a side of green beans. The dish was a culinary delight--succulent shrimp perfectly seasoned, perched atop a bed of flavorful Southern rice and garnished with a delightful mango salsa that offered a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. The side of perfectly cooked green beans added a refreshing touch to the dish. Overall, the food at Stoney River never fails to impress with its exquisite flavors and presentation. While the staff members were accommodating and friendly, our server did overlook a few details and was slow in refilling our water, likely due to the bustling nature of the restaurant that evening. Despite this minor hiccup, I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience and look forward to returning in the future.

Always a solid choice. They have very good steak, baked potatoes, and drinks. But the carrot cake... omg the carrot cake. I've been a professional carrot cake connoisseur for over 25 years now and have it for my birthday EVERY year. Theirs is hands down my absolute favorite. Their slice size is equivalent to about 3-5 slices and it's just so incredibly rich and delicious. My only wish is for it to have raisins but honestly with the glaze on the cake, I'm willing to forgive them. The service is always lovely and this is always a top contender for date night

When you are hungry for a steak and you can't get reservations at Sperry's, Cork n Cow, or Brick Top's then stop in here. They are good but not great. I started with a Midnight Margarita, that was a good start! The rolls are a 5, and the Wedge Salad was good. I ordered a small filet medium, and there was no pink and it was firm. It was good but not great. If you are know for your steaks you need to be great. The Carrot Cake was Great, it was huge, 4 of us split it and some leftover. We did sit by a fireplace and enjoyed the view and heat!
